I'd rather hear how your parents met than how you met your woman off the internet.

My parents met at the 68 convention, no shit.
My mom was a hippie and my dad was a low level street thug type who was hired by some bikers who were recruited by the city to beat up hippies.
He got down there, and before he could cause any trouble he met her and she won him over and that was that.
I'm not shitting you, that's the true story.

From what I understand he never gave a shit about politics either way till much later in life. He wasn't down there out of a hatred of hippies, he was going to get 20 bucks to beat some people up.

My dad grew up in brooklyn, part of a group of lower class artists who would sort of mooch of these well-educated, wealthier women. At a girlfriend's party he met my mom, who was a student transplant from California. They fell in love and have been completely impoverished ever since.

This girl invited my dad in the hopes of the 2 of them hooking up, and then my mom showed up and stole him away from her.
