Anyone been using? I'd been using the G5-optimized version of firefox for a long time, but the guy who was building them cut it out for PPC. Then I had a lot of problems with 2.0.9...
3 is pretty nice. none of your add ons will work of course, which is kind of unfortunate as, at least on mac, it is very white.
There is some interesting scrolling stuff going on which is new. Updated security, new download manager, simpler bookmark controls, native form elements for OS X and Linux (FINALLY!)...
Plugged memory leaks!
Plays nice with Leopard and spaces (instead of losing focus).
Any thoughts/gripes? Firefox 2 had some real rendering-while-scrolling issues for me, not sure about y'all.

2Seems a bit early doesn't it? Anything crucial?

3I haven't upgraded, but I've got one persistent problem with firefox: every now and then, after say 30 minutes of use, it becomes non-responsive. I click on links/images, and it says "done" without doing anything. I quit and reload and it's fine. It does this at least once a day. Anyone else have this problem? OS X, btw.

4I'm still IE.
I use Opera on my phone and my Wii and it is an excellent browser. Salut Opera!

5Beta 2 came out Dec 19th. A few of my extensions don't work, but its going to be awesome. The smart bookmarks feature rocks and so does the "Almighty Bar".
It passes the Acid2 test as well!

There is NO EXCUSE TO USE IE, NONE, don't even try to justify it anymore.

6I can't seriously consider using a version of Firefox that won't support the existing addons. They're pretty crucial if you're a developer.

There is a version of firebug that works with the beta 3.
Since I started using, I have had a few problems with: quicktime movies (as in, never loading); downloading stuff (sometimes it won't automatically popup the dialog box for downloading, you have to click back and right or ctrl click, or sometimes it will download large images instead of just displaying them.)
Other than that, its faster than 2. The beta mac os x theme is starting to look really good, too.

Well, Netscape isn't being supported anymore so we have to use SOMEthing...
No, seriously, I am very excited about these "plugged memory leaks." These may be the only thing about Firefox that bugs me.

This happens to me too! I have no idea why it happens, but i end up having to force quit Firefox and restart it. Annoying.
