Trilogy: Shrek

I have seen none of them! All I know is that it seemed like Shrek was the most popular thing in the world for a while; I saw him every 10 minutes on McDonald's commercials and whatnot.

I have heard that these movies are really funny, for adults and kids alike.

But so far, nobody has made me watch one.

Enjoyable, but not crazy-go-nuts good. I have only seen the first two, but I enjoyed the first and the second improved on it considerably.

Bonus points for the addition of Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots:

On the DVD of the second movie, there is actually an "American idol" parody where Banderas, as Puss, sings "Livin' la Vida Loca." It is also pretty funny. But look at that face!

I don't really care for the films. I can't vote crap though because they're responsible, indirectly, for me discovering Tom Waits. A friend heard the song "Little Drop of Poison" on the soundtrack and sent it to me, guessing that it was the kind of thing I would like.

The same soundtrack also featured "People Ain't No Good" by Nick Cave.

NC for this alone.

They're pretty good family entertainment. Good enough to warrant a not crap. Haven't seen the 3rd one though.

Shrek 2 is also responsible for what will probably be the only new Pixies track 'Bam Thwok'. It was comissioned to be the title song but never used.
