Tonight, I have to load two 4x10's (plus bass, head and leads case) up two flights of slippery metal stairs, and after we play, I have to load them back down, whilst people are trying to get up the stairs because the "party" has started now the bands have finished.

Ah, to be in a band.

The above situation does suck...and loading/unloading gets old...but as long as everybody in the band does their part, I've always considered it to be a part of the show ritual.

I've never had any gear as big as the gear you mention, V&N, but I'm on board with the whole Black Flag/gear loading/punk rock soldier idea.

Of course, if I'm nostalgic for loading gear, maybe it's been too long since I played in a band...

Yeah, it's been too long for you.

But in saying that, this the first show that the other bass player will have his car there, so I don't have to take his stuff to my car, load it in, take back to my house and load it out as well. That part sucks a lot.

No shit.

Doing it every day for over 3 weeks is worse.

I was the tetris guy.

I scaled down the size of my rig just because lugging around 4x12s everywhere with me was a pain in my ass.

I do heavy lifting for a living, 40+ hours a week. Fuck that shit. 2x12s rule.

You're never going to get a hernia and/or hemorhoids if you do that, James.

(tsk tsk)

And them are like medals of honor.

Yes them are.

At the start of the month I set up and tore down a stage in the snow. It was only two days not three weeks. That sounds like it sucks. A week later I was tearing down the Van Halen stage. Believe me when I say, Mr. Verbs and Nouns, I'd rather be loading your gear than the 11 semi trailers that we did.

Sunday is another big 80's hair(now less) band. I really hope a talk box isn't heavy. ha ha ha
