A friend just turned me on to this fantastic ep of weird, dark, fucked-up synthpop. Minimal and raw. It reminds me of Cabaret Voltaire or a more subdued Metal Urbain maybe? Tinny metallic guitars, canned beats, strangely catchy. Upcoming 2008 LP to be released on Troubleman. For your edification I've included a track from their 2007 ep Diana (The Herald).

I gotta be honest and say that the fact that I know this is music from a current artist is why I vote CRAP.

Blank Dogs is one of the best things happening in music for me right now. I've got all of his 2007 output, and it's all wonderful. I've read he has 12 releases planned for 2008. Probably one of the only artists I listen to who is actually prolific.

He's doing what I've always wanted to do. Some might think it's the worst thing ever, but I think it's absolutely perfect.

Not crap.

Get "The First Two Weeks" EP and "On Two Sides" LP from this year.

I'm a fan, and I still don't know who he really is, even though I probably met him sometime. Mysterious.

NOT CRAP.
