remember all those band reunions?

Off the top of my head -

Mission of Burma - Still an incredible live band. I didn't like their new records but literally everyone else did so I think that totally justifies their decision to reform.
Slint - It was nice to be able to say I saw Slint in my life and they were a decent enough live band. If it helps fund their new projects, I say this one was entirely okay.
Gang of Four - Apparently still brought it live but I wasn't sure about the albums being re-recorded. They've had a few shitty albums now. Partial credit.
Dinosaur Jr - Still a good live band. Wasn't keen on the new album but to be honest I didn't like much after YLAOM either.
Pixies - Never a good live band in the first place. Certainly not now. This one was all about the money.
JAMC - Didn't see.
The Stooges - Good live band to this day. Not keen on their record.
MC5 - Fair play for going out on the road but it's not really the MC5.
MBV - Remains to be seen.
Roxy Music - No Eno but everyone else is there. Probably okay.
The Jam - They reformed without Weller. No really.
The Cars - Reformed without everyone. No really.

I saw Slint in Los Angeles on Jul. 24th 2007. Might of been the 23rd, either way it was probably the best musical performance I have ever witnessed.

I think it was about 100 degrees outside and inside the venue, but the shrooms kept me cold.

Nosferatu Man and Washer gave me goosebumps.

Shit,

Even the bouncers were blazin' during their set.

I would like to see Mission of Burma live. They're a great band from random songs my friends have jammed in my presence.

Go4 and MoB still brought it live but i don't think they brought it on record.

I think you're wrong. OnOffOn was fantastic.

I really liked the last Dino Jr album too though, so make what you will of that.

Sorry, forgot this.

I really enjoy Beyond as well.

Slint was amazing. Really creepy. Perfect. Even on the last tour in Europe.

Stooges doing Funhouse was the best gig I have ever seen without any doubt at all.

I saw the Pixies the day my girlfriend of 3 years went home to the other side of the world and I bawled my eyes out during Hey, I don't know if thats a fair reflection of the quality of the band.

Dinosaur sounded like Dinosaur, I liked it when I saw them recently and they were doing the post-Lou stuff with Lou. But J Mascis & The Fog with Watt was a better gig when I saw them a few times.

MoB and Go4 I am not big enough fans of to say anything other than I enjoyed them live.

In conclusion: a good band is a good band and more importantly it's their band. They can do what they want with it.

Forgot about these fellahs. Boy do I love Polvo. I would love to see them live. Wasn't anywhere near old enough when they were around. For folks like me, this is a massive opportunity.

We also forgot The Eagles. Thanks for coming back, guys. No really. Thanks.
