Now I don't think many people enjoy the music (I don't think much of it is THAT good to be honest), but I'm sure you can't deny how stunning those record sound.

And well anyway, I was wondering if you guys had any tips on how to make a recording sound that good without having to go to some big studio (I currently use a BOSS BR-900, it's not the best of systems, but it gets me through).

If it helps, I use a drum machine so you don't have to worry about the drum sound..

That's really weird that you bring this up. I just re-listened to Copper Blue two days ago. It's kind of dated, but I like the song writing and the album sounds great.

As far as Beaster goes, if you don't have anyone around to tell you that your songs are going on way too long, you're well on your way to making an album like this!

I would vote for them being good records that sound horrible. They sound like they're incased in ice or something. I can only assume you work on the runway at an airport waving those orange lollipops around and thus you have lost all the top end of your hearing (like Bob Mould).

Just put chorus on everything...

I always thought it was a nice mix, especially when you compare to the Husker Du records.

wow, I always thought Bob Mould's production was awful! I was a massive fan of those records (and everything bob mould did really) but it all sounds super processed, even back in 93 or whenever I thought it was easily one of the worst acoustic guitar sounds ever, and the bass! Crikey. I think alot of the guitar/ bass is recorded direct (rather than mic'd) and processed heavily ? Certainly sounds that way. This is making me think I want to go and play all my sugar 12"s though.
