D'OH-NATION ... NANCY CARTWRIGHT, THE VOICE OF BART SIMPSON DONATED $11.2M TO SCIENTOLOGY

THE voice of Bart Simpson last year handed a stunning $11.2 million over to her beloved Church of Scientology - twice as much as Tom Cruise.
Nancy Cartwright, 50, made the donation as part of Scientology’s Global Salvage effort, which aims to “de-aberrate” Earth - meaning to rid mankind of psychology ills and other “aberrant” behavior.

PageSix.com reports Cruise, easily the church's most prominent member, only coughed up $5.6 million in instalments.

Cartwright can certainly handle the financial blow. She's been earning $280,000 an episode on The Simpsons since 2004.

It is funny how everyone goes after Scientology like it is any less rational than Christianity. When someone donates money to Christian church/organization/whatever it is fine with everyone, but doing the same for Scientology obviously means someone was brainwashed and deserves to be laugh at.

I think it's a question of taste.

Say what you like about Christianity it has had the time to produce some pretty amazing things in the field of architecture, music, painting, literature and pretty much every other field you can think of.

Scientology has really really bad science fiction.

Scientology is the bad television to Christianity's high art.

Yet no one laughs at people who go to see Die Hard 4 instead of visiting an art gallery. But from what I hear, people don't laugh at Scientology because it doesn't have an equivalent of Christian achievements on the fields you mentioned, but because they find what Scientology says stupid and laughable. So look in the mirror, I say.

It is more rational to be sceptical of Scientology because it's so much more transparently seedy. Also, if you can't at least concede that many/most Christians are good hearted people who are genuinely trying to help people then you need to get out more.

If scientology managed to insinuate itself into various positions of power in american society to such a degree that they could seriously fuck with and harass you if you talked negatively about them, would you still have the strength of your convictions to tell them to go fuck themselves or would you crumble before their mind controlling mightiness.
