the word is "while".

"while" came first by hundreds of years. it has less letters. it sounds less pretentious.

then some clown added an extra letter to make it sound more pretentious and stuff.

The way I understand it (and I could be partially wrong), "who" does it and "whom" has it done to.

"The woman who loves me."
"The woman whom I love."

What the hell is amongst? In the paper (or somewhere) I recently saw an ad for an independent film entitled Amongst Friends. That sounds terrible.

I like "whilst" when I read it on internet forums, especially if I know the person writing it is American.

"While" is plain.
