we get a lot of cold calls. I don't know how other studios do it, but we always require that the intern gets college credit for their work.

I sent a standard mail letter for my internship.
It was fairly painless.

I did cold calls. Actually got an address and just showed up once. Happened to knock on the door in-between sessions, got to take a tour, chatted it up for awhile, and came in to assist the next day.
