Look at my white belt! My hair is purposely arranged to look messy! I liked that band when I used to see them at my local hipster bar, but since they put out their first album and people besides me and my circle of friends found out about them I think they suck. example: "I loved early Tortoise!" In my crap/not crap posts I only discuss Indie bands. I am very smart and intelligent and like to show the world how smart I am by being a smartass instead of creating music with warmth and beauty! What a bunch of total crap!

dude, can you pick me a sixer of pabst before we head to that vines show? thats like the coolest beer holmes. dude man, look at my new tatoo. its like a tribal symbol with like a stooges feel to it. man, i was into the stooges way fuckin back. i love that kick out tha jams motherfucker tune they do, they totally sold out when that nico chick started to sing for them. like totally, i got my long silver chain attatched to my wallet and my cool retro too tight 70's t-shirt i picked up at abercrombie's on sale for like $37. for sure man, that new tune i wrote sounds totally fuckin original, like it came off the first Ramones record, but better, more rockin. man, i fucked this chick after bartime that totally looked like that white stripes bitch. she even had a STP tatoo. no man, not the band, but that motor oil kinda retro shit. stp sucks, but i kinda like that record they did with like that keyboard player for fugazi, anyway, that chick i fucked was like way into bright eyes. whats with that. isn't he like the punk fionna apple? nah man, tortoise sucks, i hate that pink floyd wannabe crap. shellac is kinda cool, but that gangsta math rock gets kinda old. they sound kinda of like limp bizkit meets duran duran or the fixx. anyway, good to see ya![/img]

lol. lemme try something real quick...

i hate your white belt. in fact, i'm probably more focused on being fashionable than you are, i just get upset cause i either can't pull it off, or maybe i'm just mad cause i don't have my own sense of style, i dunno. but i sure give a shit about fashion. look at how i've combed my hair! you care, right? you care how my hair looks? i don't really keep up with what's going on in the local music scene, i'm with the rest of the people who hear about it in Spin or Rolling Stone or something, so usually by the time i hear about a band, it's after they've gone mainstream. i don't even understand enough about music to know that there *is* a difference in character between the first tortoise album and the most recent... i can't tell the difference, cause all i look at is how popular stuff is, and i don't actually listen to the music. all i talk about in my crap/not crap polls are bands that everyone else read about in Rolling Stone, too. the last thing i want is to hear about a new band in a crap/not crap poll. cause y'know, that would force me to go outside the bounds of my mainstream music listening. and then i'd be lost in the indie world that's so scary. seriously, what band should i like? what band is it cool to like? what kinda belt do i hafta wear? how should i style my hair? i need to know all the rules! cause the last thing i wanna se is people just being themselves, especially once it's caught on and become cool and i'm just now learning about it. what a bunch of total crap!

ha ha, just kiddin. i think it sucks when people concern themselves with exactly how to be a dedicated follower of fashion, too. the thing is though, it's easy to miss out on the fact that plenty of people had messy hair like, 10, 20, 30, 40 years ago. i've almost always had sorta messy hair. people used to not care up until around middle school, and then gave me shit for it when i was like 13 through 17. but by the time i was in college, it had become cool to look messy. and apparently it never stopped? messy went from mainstream uncool to mainstream cool when? i would guess right around grunge-time. so to associate that with any current indie trend, you're doing a lot of people an injustice. y'know? don't be a hater! how can you talk about how people should be making music with warmth and beauty, and then turn around and spend a whole post being a hater? were you going for irony points or something?
