I used to think Cutters Choice was ok (possibly better) as an alternative to GV. I've always found Drum pretty manky.

Pocket Edition. I have only seen this in New Zealand. Good smell, good flavor - never dry. Sounds like an advertisement

I used to smoke Drum pretty much until Douwe Egberts pulled out of the North American market, and I've been smoking either Bali Shag or Samson since. North American Drum is horrible, and I've never encountered a fresh pack of it.--I much prefer Samson over Bali.
I first smoked Samson in 1992 when they started expanding their North American distribution, as you could get two packs for the price of one.
As far as Golden Virginia goes, it's not distributed here in the states, though Trotsky from the Subhumans let me try one a few years ago. --Not bad stuff at all.

The tobacco is okay, it's the papers I can't stand: flimsy, short, not wide enough, I always end up buying a different brand rolling papyrus if I'm rolling Drum tobacco.
Other = Bali Shag
I like Bali Shag

In 6th grade, my friend and I rolled some Skoal up in notebook paper and tried to smoke it in his garage. Burned our throats pretty good. Everything else was smooth smoking after that, until I quit 5 years ago. Drum or Bugler.
