Didn't find a poll on him. His track record has a very solid not crap to crap ratio. Has a reputation for being pretty opiniated and a control freak (taking over American History X, his current public wrestling with the studio over the editing of Hulk). His performance elevated Primal Fear from cheesy B-movie to one of the coolest guilty-pleasure courtroom suspense thrillers ever made.
So yeah, NOT CRAP.

4johnB, I take issue with a couple of the films on your crap list, but not in a big way. Still, any not crap to crap ratio better than 1 to 1 is solid, considering this is hollywood we're talking about. Not everyone can be Daniel Day Lewis...
Also, a couple things about Kingdom of Heaven. One, he's got a fairly small (but admitedly interesting) role. Two, the movie's not that bad. I thought the theatrical cut was incredibly lame, mainly due to the fact that Orlando Bloom is simply not a man. Bloom is more, say, half-pussy, half-ferret. But I rented the director's cut recently, which is a lot longer. It's a completely different ride. Sure, there's a little more of Orlando Bloom in it, but there's also so much more of everything else too. That extra stuff informs and enriches the original material in ways that truly transform the movie into a true epic. It's damn good.

6Ed Norton was sexing Salma Hayek for a while... i believe that would fall on the NOT side of crap in most straight men's minds.
It does, most definitely, in mine.
oh, and he's a fine actor too, i guess.

7Tries too hard to be a character actor which invariably means he overacts most roles. Also was engaged to Courtney Love, end of discussion imo.

8don't like him. i'd put him along with kevin spacey as an actor who does the same god damn thing in every single thing he's in, whether it's "25th hour" or "primal fear."
How these people get to be elevated to the status they are at is beyond me...

9My wife knows a chick who banged him, he has a small wang and is into weird S&M shit I guess
