what do you get for an extra $1600 a day?

Fewer amps, no guitars, no basses, fewer drums, fewer microphones, and a shit ton more keyboards

The same aircondtioned wood and carpeted room.

Granted, the beach in the Bahamas is probably nicer.

Shit- you could record at Electrical for two weeks, then spend a two weeks vacationing in the Bahamas with the money you saved.

Those two studios are for two distinctly different things.
If you are a working musician... Electrical.
If you are a rockstar making a record on vacation...
You get the point.

Compass Point has a studio design that I generally don't like -- for each control room there is one main studio room. In their studio A there is an isolation booth, but in studio B they just have baffles.

I would not like to record there for that reason. On almost every session I need to isolate somebody or several people during the live take, and that isn't possible there. Well, it may be, but not in a way that would allow for otherwise normal studio use.

It is also, as noted, stupid expensive and on an island, so if you need something and they don't have it in the building, you're fucked.

If you're a pampered rock star and don't care about things other than being in a cool place, then whatever -- you have bigger problems than can be solved in a recording studio.

Plus their website sucks. Can you imagine the people who would troll around on a Compass Point forum?

If I wanted to make a record I'd go to Electrical, but if I had been screwed by a record company and wanted to waste their money I'd go to compass point. Horses for courses.

Their money is your money. In all likelihood the label will screw you one last time by making sure they earned back the cost of you recording in the tropics.
