There was a scene from it as one of the Superbad DVD extras. It was a bit tedious and seemed to go nowhere fast, actually.

Then I saw it was being directed by David Gordon Green and I thought...huh, this looks like it has the potential to be an interesting failure.

The trailer looks good, though. And shit, two Freaks and Geeks guys in the cast along with James Remar...

Could maybe not suck as bad as the initial clip made me think.
You call me a hater like that's a bad thing

Not Crap. Heavy waffles.
How were the action scenes?

Fucking awesome in a total B-movie ridiculousness way. Like when Rogen jumps onto Gary Cole (it's in the trailer, no spoiler) and there's the obvious wires showing, absurdly posed leap...yeah, a lot of that.

Some parts got me bad, others didn't. It is a stoner flick that takes all these epic turns.

Worth matinee, definitely. Could be worth full admission, if your humor is geared towards the stoner variety.

Fuck it, go see it. Pretty fucking funny.

Funny scenes, but mostly loose.

Needed to be tighter, another couple passes in the editing room to take the edge off of some obvious ad-libbing exchanges.

Also, too much of "stoner dudes try to write a sensitive stoner dude guy movie"

Probably works better if you are high. Which I was not, but had time to kill what with the theater across the street from where my car window was being replaced. But it was fairly funny regardless of viewer altered states.

Verdict: Matinee it if you must.

When's that Franco kid going to star in a Jeff Buckley biopic, already?
It's like you put everything into a bottle inside itself.

I thought Pineapple Express was waaaaay funnier than Superbad. Superbad will go down as the classic, because it portrays high school more accurately than any film had ever really done before (or has since), and in some ways maybe it felt more complete, but after the first 30 minutes I didn't find it all that funny.

On the other hand this movie was funny the whole way through and the action scenes were fucking BRUTAL. And plentiful. Lots of left turns.
