compressor.

My favorite thing about this thread is that the title line is in all caps, as per the "my driver is busted" thing... but then the message body is mixed upper and lower, and it doesn't say "edited x times in total".

I dont know if its my driver....did I ever say it was? I believe that was a suggestion by someone. I type correctly using shift and or caps button in my typing sequence and it sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. sometimes it will stay on caps for days and sometimes it wont do caps for days and other days it will work flawlessly.....so I have an idea......quite worrying about capital fucking letters on a god damn forum on the internet ....obviously anyone and everyone who bitch about something so insignificant have shitty fucking boring lives......its actually disgusting when I think how many people care so much about it and if the same amount of people cared about something that matters how much difference could be made...fucking apes

This is a really subjective question. A 'Killer PA' system for a small/medium sized club that has a couple of bands playing on weekends is an entirely differant thing than a system that you plan to use for large events in very large auditoriums and outdoor spaces.

The design of the speaker cabinets becomes more critical in larger arrays, because you want the want the cabinets in an array to work togeather as one unit.

Also a system than you plan to do a lot of travelling with, ( Like in a band situation) can have differant componant size considerations than a system that you plan to install in a club and leave there until the club goes out of business.

4-5 JBL 15" EONS, 2 for FOH, 2-3 for monitors
one or two bass scoops loaded with 15" Eminence Kilomax
DECENT amps to run the sub/s 1000-2000 watt output range (Crown MA series, Crest Professional series, QSC PLX's will work fine as well)
X-over/Drive unit that can sum LF in Mono
dual 31 band graphic or parametric EQ for FOH
dual 31 band graphic EQ for monitors
Presonus ACP88 Comp (2x channels for FOH drive, 2 channels for monitors drive , 4 channels for mix)
Cheaper Lexicon reverb, like an MPX500
Allen Heath 16x4 channel MixWizard
16 channel Snake w/ at least 4 returns
rackmount player/burner if you can afford it.

3 DI boxes (Keyboards & Bass Amp)
2 AKG D112 (Kickdrum & Bass Amp)
4 Audio Technica ATM20 mics (Rack Toms)
1 Audix OM-5 or OM-6 (Primary Vocalist)
3 Shure SM-58 (backup vocals)
6 Shure SM-57 (Snare, additional percussion, backline, and a few extra)

I realise that the SM-57 doesn't get much respect on this forum, and pretty rightly so considering that this is a recording forum, however they have their uses in live applications.
