I was looking hard at these... 24 TRS ins and outs... Anyone have any experiance or comlaints....
Oh I just checked... Black Lion Mods these for $595..
So would it be worth the $2k?
It just seems nice to go Direct from console to DAW.. (USED LIKE TAPE MACHINE) Then route it back for the mix...
Thanks..

2I've heard the A/D/A isn't great, as seems to usually be the case with Motu gear. I'm assuming that's what the BLA mod will help. I have heard good things about BLA/Motu mods, but never sent anything there myself.
If you can find a deal on one used you'll probably be happy. If you're paying full price for a brand new unit, there might be better options?

3I think they're OK. The sound isn't stellar but it's also not bad for 24 channels in and out for the price. They seem to be very stable, software wise. BEWARE: the jacks on the back are very tightly packed, standard Neutrik jacks WILL NOT FIT. Nor will the newer slimline Neutriks. We found some by Deltron or Switchcraft that worked but they're not as nice to work on or handle.
Don't shun it. Fun it.

4are there other options for this?
i don't know of anything else at this kinda price point.
it seems like the only thing in my price range to go from my tape machine...

5Check out the Echo Audiofire 12.
Two of them will run you alittle over $1K.
