This doc's article reflects pretty much what I've learned about the digestive system and pH over the years. Basically, the foods you eat can't substantively change the pH of your blood.

This is a popular theory usually espoused either by raw food zealots, opponents of the germ theory of disease, or someone selling a snake oil "supplement."

I love that Germany apparently suffers the ill-effects of France's cuisine.

Today at work a manager scolded me for saying fuck in front of him.

Now I come home and the internet is telling me what to eat.

I must have turned 6 years old sometime today. Poopy poopy farty butt.

I think it is more that in Germany, a knapsack made of bacon and stuffed with butter and shredded potato would count as a "salad" if you poured cream on it and served it pretzels.

That was my understanding as well, but I'm no scientist. Does anyone have any evidence supporting the idea that diet affects pH balance of blood?

Is that cut-and-paste-looking info from the OP from this site?:

While there are benefits to eating vegetarian, some blood types aren't able to handle it. I'm a type O, and when I ate raw vegan for 3 weeks I lost 6 lbs. and couldn't stand up without getting dizzy. I need red meat.

That being said, there are a lot of health benefits to eating grass-fed meats...the way they are naturally meant to be eaten.

A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, and was told that fats and grains (especially wheat) should be avoided altogether. While large amounts of these items are very tough for me to digest, small amounts whole wheat and grass-fed meats go down just fine, and help keep my weight up. Same for dairy - goat is very easy to digest.

One of my favorite things to do right now is freeze some grass-fed beef in small patties (which kills the bacteria) and then cook it medium-rare and eat it with some leafy green veggies. Tastes great and is super-easy to digest.

Rick is right about the American food industry - we're in a time warp when it comes to food processing:
