I have a 75 fender p bass that i threw at a drummer and then at the ground in a drunken fit of rage a few years ago.

I threw it face down at the ground and pretty much pushed all the knobs into the plastic face plate thing and the truss rod has tried to exit the back of the neck causing a split about 20 cms long.

I assume its pretty well fucked, but i loved the neck and have never been able to get the same feel from others i've tried on it.

are there any builders anyone can recommend that could fix this?
like could it be snapped entirely and re-glued or something?
i'm in Australia but wouldn't mind sending it to the US if someone has a solid recommendation.

i've had sgs with nasty neck breaks that have come up fine but don't know of anyone ever getting something like this repaired, any suggestions would be great as i really want this to live again.

If the truss rod has split the neck, it may not be possible to reconstruct it well enough.

It might be worth asking Tim at Lovell's. I'd recommend him for any luthier work, whatsoever. Should he deem it beyond his power to reconstruct it, he will probably know someone who will be able to.

I once did the exact same thing with a '73 P-Bass except it didn't break. Maybe I'm Australian and I just need to move there to uh, fulfill my destiny ?

the neck i replaced it with is so not for me.
