anyone know of a good drum room thats under 400 a day with some ok mics and pres within 2 hrs of chicago for one day of recording just the kit

i really wish i knew who bought the uberstudio and what it is now - i really liked the live room there. i know mark sold it to someone who was going to keep it running - that's in humboldt park.

ah - here it is. i found an old email from mark:

The new owners have changed the name to Strobe Recording and done a lot of cosmetic changes, some extra soundproofing, and generally tried to spiff up the place. The gear is essentially the same, plus a few extras (some better adats), minus a couple pieces that we took and sold to even out the deal.

couldnt find any innerweb info for them. (the adat comment is a joke - they had a studer 2" in addition to the adats and PT)

My old band recorded our last album there. Great wood panelled room and Matt is a hell of a nice guy. The apartment that you can stay at (above the room) is swank.
