What a Group!!! To be 21/22 (the age of the lead songwriter Zach Condon at the time I heard of the band) and arrange such a sound! This guy is obviously gifted.
Am disheartened to learn of their break-up. Definitley a band I want to see live. Such hounesty and conviction in what they are doing. But not enough to keep them together!!!
Shame!!

2"Arrange" is one way of putting it. I'm so "happy" that "he" "shared" "his" "gift".
The Melvins are not crap.

I meant "arrange" as to indicate that the burden of responsibilty was on young shoulders, as it was "he" who wrote the songs!
The "gift" he was given is incedible??, and, "they" provide the substance to "his" music,! The many instruments involved all come together to create a massive sound!! That did not happen by acident. From what i can gather the main reason that "they" have split is due to the extreme demands put on a band of this size.
What "I'm" saying is, that "he" writes the songs, and "they" perform the music necessary to fulfil the vision!!

5You want to hear a big sound? Try "Se Telefonando" by Mina. Cool tune, actual arrangement, huge brass sound in the chorus.

6I really like those two albums. I think he has a great ear for songwriting, brass and melancholy. What I find interesting is that the brass isn’t really as eastern European sounding as its meant to be, but is instead a lot more like colliery/ salvation army brass. It’s a very British sound (I thought at least).
Not Crap, though maybe a lot of that is to do with how much my ex loves them. Maybe it should be crap then.
Nah, Not Crap.
This thread needs a poll. Then again maybe not as I don’t think he’ll fare too well.
