How to age the Akai 4000ds

Just came across an Akai 4000ds MKII and I'd like to know what year it'd be from. Does anyone know where to go for a serial number explanation?
I know I've found such pages for Ibanez and Atari etc but I am having no luck with this one. Any help would be great.
