Helping a friend sell a nice 70 s P-bass...

My buddy needs cash... he just lost his job and I figured I could help.

I'm gonna post this on Ebay tonight but I figured I'd ask here first.

We'd be happy to get a $1000 for it... but I see them go from $1200 up to $2000. This one has a few unoriginal things going on like the aluminum pickgaurd and the finish may or may not be original. I will disassemble it tonight and see if I can find any more info. I'll be doing a full set-up on it so it will play great and electronics will be functioning properly. Case included, may or may not be original... one latch is broken.

Have you seen the dudes selling late 70's P Bass necks for upwards near $1000? Or the ultra douche selling a 78 P Bass Thumb Rest for $100. Or the ultra, ultra douches selling the pickups for nearly $300.

That's the shit I have been seeing lately. Shit is getting ridiculous.

But any way, if that's a refin, around $1000 is a good price. Those knobs aren't original either. Damn, that's a nice looking specimen.

Paging That Damned Fly.

I don't think that headstock is original either. Still looks great

I don't care about the origins of anything but the neck/body/pu's. $1000 is a good price. You should be able to get at least that. Especially if it's a player.

I wish I could buy it but can't right now. Someone here should really pick it up. It is sexy.

My feelings too. Unfortunately other folks get all crazy about that shit and they will want to know.

+1. I already had to turn down a really good deal this week to buy back my 78 P from That Damned Fly. Someone snag it. I wish my economy stimulus check were here right now. I feel the need to stimulate.
