I can't begin to describe how stunningly bad this movie was. From the painfully unfunny 50's references to the non-existent plot....why exactly do the Russians want with Mayan crystal skulls that are relics of a race of...aliens? The acting is terrible across the board and Harrison Ford looks about 90. The CGI was excessive and the action sequences boring. Lucas had his fingerprints all over this and Spielberg was either drugged or forced to participate in the proceedings. Just really awful.

Oh...Hound Dog by Elvis is played in the opening credits, references to Howdy Doody and CGI gophers abound in this. I don't even remember if the traditional John Williams score was used. This movie was an imposter.

i haven't seen it. i believe it's crap. hell i knew it will be crap. i'll vote when i see it.

It was okay, but was obviously a pastiche of the last twenty years of abandoned screenplays. Had its moments.

I liked it, and the John Williams score was prominent.

Moments of what exactly? Harrison Ford hiding in a refrigerator to escape a nuclear blast? Shia Lebeouf being rescued by CGI monkeys? The killer ants? Cate Blanchett's accent?

A pastische would have been welcomed. This wasn't even cobbled together. It didn't have a plot.

It's a fun movie. Don't take it so seriously and you'll enjoy it more.

Yeah. Those moments were few and far between, though.

For all the sticking up i do on this forum for CGI effects in movies, they were pretty shitty here. During the big chase in the jungle with the jeep and the duck, at no point did i believe anyone was actually driving anything.

Stuff i liked: Any dialogue between Marion and Indy, the gag with the snake and the sink sand or whatever the hell, the motorcycle sequence that ends up in the library, and the ending (even though it was a totally tacked-on BS Star Wars-style dénouement), because i'm a softie. Awwww.

Also: References to PBR, Harley-Davidson, and Wisconsin Ducks (yeah, i know they didn't really originate in Wisconsin, but anyone who grew up in the same state as Wisconsin Dells sees a duck and thinks of the Dairy State). Don't fuck with Wisconsin!

Overall, CRAP WF: 3 for the occasional fun stuff. I'm gonna go see Iron Man again to remind myself what summer movie awesomeness is all about.

It reads pretty bad.
