See this is what you tried to ACCUSE me of doing. I invite some of you other engineers for my open house shin dig. Beer, girls, gear. I, in no way did what this guy just did and offered service or prices. Do not compare me, birdman. Are we still going out to TGI Fridays McGarvey?

McGravey sent me a PM asking me out to TGI Fridays for jalepenos poppers and PBR. Hope hes not hittin on me. I dont know if I can trust McGarvey, I mean who can? His wife sports a perm and hes going bald. He met her in the BBW section of craigslist he told me.

Dr. Johnny Fever has a point here at least he was letting everyone know about an open house with some booze and, hopefully, doughnuts.

This new guy has a few things going for him:
1. He seems somewhat articulate
2. He joined in 2005 and this is his first post, which gives the impression/illusion he understands how people on this forum are
3. His post has been up for over two hours and no retarded banshee ramblings have come from him

What's not to love?

Tony here is one of my very best friends. He's a great fella, and talented too.

Tony used to play saxophone in a band called Murder in the Red Barn, whose original (best) line-up recorded an album with Bob Weston. The cover art for this record (Get in Before the Rain) is pretty much atrocious from a graphic design standpoint, but the album itself is a very good listen - an obscure but accomplished, "mathy" late '90s indie record. Five unassuming dudes getting down to brass tacks, and they played their hearts out. Plus, Weston fuckin' NAILED the drum sound. Lordy! Some of y'all would eat this record up, assuming you haven't enjoyed it a fair deal already.

But Murder was a long time ago, as was - inside joke alert - Oxygen Vs. The Caramel Apple. These days, when Tony's not too busy pretending he isn't gay, he records bands like MKE locals the Trusty Knife, and more well-known artists like Daniel Johnston and Mick Turner. Slowly but surely he's building up a solid cache of fine recordings, and like my pal Prurient I couldn't be more proud of him. (It's truly gratifying to see one's friends kicking ass.)

Oh, and maybe this goes without saying but Tony KNOWS MUSIC, has billions of records and a formidable grasp on what sounds good. Definitely the sort of dude I'd want to work on my record. (In fact he recorded much of the dialogue for this film I'm still plugging away at.)

Sound Sound is a superb little studio. It isn't, admittedly, particularly spacious, but unless you're recording something akin to the latest Joanna Newsom album all in one take, that shouldn't be an issue. Just be weary of the piano bar on your way in.

Confidential to Scholltown: Remember those three guys?

I can't wait until Rick Reuben and Killpop finally collide. That right there will make for some premium pay-per-view quality PRF action.
