Went to and from New York on this thing this weekend. It wasn't as bad as people I know have said it can be. The weirdest thing was sitting next to a guy chugging a can of Bud who kept talking to me about how he's got kids younger than his grandkids. Supercheap, too; it cost less than what it would take to gas up my car once on a road trip like this.
I'll say Not Crap, with waffles because there was a detour not on the schedule to Rockville.

I have several friends who have gotten stuck, on separate instances, on a Fung Wah due to fire. I try to carpool up there though I may investigate Lucky Star for the next time. Secondhand story based crap for Fung Wah.

I did NYC to Boston and back a few weeks ago via Fung Wah. It went fine, but I was warned by more than a few people that if you ride it more than a couple of times, you're bound to have a shitty experience.
We probably passed 20 other buses on the highway that were making a similar trip. So, quick but not necessarily safe.

Fung Wah doesn't always stop on the way to Boston. They are supposed to stop at a Roy Rogers', but the past two times I took FW they didn't.
I always bring a sandwich or food for the bus in case this happens, but some people don't. I also have this thing about not using the bathroom on the bus, so not stopping becomes a bit of an annoyance.
Lucky Star stops at a questionable chinese buffet place about an hour outside of Boston. The food looks sort of OK, but I just run into the supermarket next door and hope the lines are not too long.
I have never taken Lucky Star to DC (not even sure they go there.)
I like how these cheap bus companies have driven Greyhound prices down.
