Two minimalist bands discreetly enter...one band quietly leaves (very politely).

Low or Slint? I'm torn. Slint had one kickass record, Low had one kickass career (until Zak Sally left).

Slint's one kickass record is more suited to my tastes than any of the many records that are likely kickass that Low has released in their long career.

So I'll go with Slint. I listen to Spiderland way more than I listen to anything by Low. Sorry, Alan and Mimi. You guys seem pretty cool.

I instinctivey went for Low because they have such a fine body of work.

Incidentally, the last record Drums & Guns was excellent. I wanted to hate it in a perverse way but when I returned to it after a few months, I realised it's actually a work of brilliance. Give it another try, it's worth it.

Low in a heartbeat.

still haven't heard Drums & Guns though...

I'm surprised by how easy it was for me.

i don't know enough low to vote, but don't understand why slint is supposed to be minimalist...

lyrically i think sometimes they "push on the tear ducts" as the germans would say...not at all understated.

i will think of more german idioms that are relevant to this thunderdome & more importantly listen to more low before voting.

I love both, but Low easily wins this one for me.

Low
