Better than Ang Lee's Hulk.

Nowhere near as good as Iron Man.

I sort of wish they could have split the difference between the cerebral cool father issues stuff from Ang Lee's movie and the straight action of this one. The action was good (actually, some of the big Hulk/Abomination CGI battle royal was REALLY good) but there was not too much underneath it. Overall it was a bit shallow.

But! Tony Stark! A kickass opening credit sequence that references the TV show! Lou fuckin' Ferrigno!

Overall, the action was good enough to give it a mild not crap with high waffles. It served its purpose of getting us closer to the goddamn motherfucking AVENGERS.

It was worth the 8 bucks so not crap. The action was nice but the plot did feel shallow. I haven't picked up the comic, so maybe I am at a loss there though. Overall not bad, but not up there with recent better comic movies.

Is it just me or can Mr. Banner get around. Well ok, as Hulk he went from Brazil to Guatemala, but what bugs me is as a wimpy scientist he made it from Mexico to Virginia on zero cash + food?

I am still tempted to watch this film, but this Peter Bradshaw slating delighted me.

Peter Bradshaw wrote:Tim Roth come on. As evil soldier. Fighting Hulk personal for him. Roth typical evil Brit. Roth supposedly working for US army. Yet Roth Brit. Critic annoyed by stereotyping. Roth get injected with serum. Become Hulky supervillain. Smash cars. Tanks. Only with no trousers. Roth groin area ambiguous. Groin area look lumpy. Bumpy. Perhaps odd penis. Perhaps odd trousers. Critic ... not sure.

Was this movie supposed to be a sequel to the one that came out only a few years ago? I was under the impression that its another redo, like the Batman franchise.

If I am right about that, then why are they remaking this film so soon after the last one? Better CG?

Yes, it's a redo (although they do a few clever things to make it sort of almost work as a sequel too, like skipping the origin and starting the movie in South America, where Eric Bana ran off to at the end of the first one--but yeah, it's basically a reboot).

They're doing it so soon after the last one because they're gearing up for the Avengers, and they're using all the original members of the team, of which The Hulk was one.

Doctor, your love of Marvel Comics is stirring something dangerously homosexual within me.
Can't wait to see the new Hulk, but I remember reading (either here or on IMDB) that Ed Norton was a dick in the editing room, which sort of pisses me off for Stan Lee, who, in my opinion, is the only guy who has any business being the guy in the editing room saying what stays and what goes.
I'm going to predict Not Crap, just the same.
This is going to get worse before it gets any better.

Whats your favourite movie based on a comic book and your favourite
superhero?

I like Batman. The first 2 movies directed by Tim Burton are ok, I guess, but he should have casted Rutger Hauer for the main character, instead of Keaton. Hauer would have been simply perfect for the role.

The sequels were awful, unwatchable. And they have lost the opportunity to make a decent Batman, the Dark Knight, the 55 years old Batman. It should have been darker and grim. Again, I would have casted Hauer for the role.

I must say that generally speaking, movies based on a comic book are very disappointing.
