The hard part of building a PSU will be the output transformer, which is inside the PSU chassis. Without an original Altec one, you're looking at custom-winding a wide-bandwidth transformer, and that's going to be real expensive. You might spend $250 a channel for the OT, but then the rest of the PSU is pretty straight-forward.
