I don't envy you this time around, man. I love his music but Berman strikes me as a scary dude. I hear he's on the wagon now so maybe he's turned a corner. Best of luck anyhow, can't wait to hear it.

hey, thanks. I'm sure it'll be fine. I may be slightly nervous but I don't fear David. also, it's on the phone, so what could he really do to me?

There was a period of time when DB was pretty far gone, by all accounts. A few years ago a lot of folks figured him for a toe-tag sooner or later. He definitely went through a dark period brought on by extensive substance abuse. I heard a few stories from that time which made him seem like a pretty scary chap. That's in the past though.
It's absolutely wonderful that he pulled through and the new record is as good as anything he's produced thus far.

Agreed. I saw an interview with him and he had that bizarre 'brain is functioning at a high level quality' about him
