Anytime I hear a man mention that he cannot drive stick I instantly think about half as highly of him as I did before finding it out.

How can you go your whole life and never learn how to drive stick? If for no other reason than to not be the dude who has to say 'I can't drive stick'

It's a true sign of a pussy motherfucker, I'm sorry.

It takes half a fucking day, if you don't know how to do it go out and learn. Seriously, enough.

I mean, I can drive a stick shift, and I'm pretty goddamn inept with mechanical objects. You've got to be on the "can't walk and chew gum" level if you can't deal with a manual transmission. Or simply not trying.

So what if they take baths too? Does that take away the other half?

I'm with you though. In my opinion, driving a car with a manual transmission makes you a more alert driver.

I think this is it. Or theyre just someone who doesnt drive (or hasnt driven) older or foreign cars.

Most of my cars have been manuals. I dont trust automatic transmissions. They seem too akin to swinging-a-cat-above-your-head-in-a-graveyard-style black magic. Wait, youre saying that the car shifts itself? Wtf?

I learned how to drive in a car with a manual transmission. I've never owned a car with an automatic.

CRAP. Why waste gas and give up the ability to bump start in a pinch?

Just wanted to stop by and congratulate you on your promotion from "World's Greatest Writer" to "Master of Cunnilingus." Nicely done.

I learned to drive stick when I was 13 in a 1960's VW Bug. It was the only car I had ever driven manual until I got into my girlfriends truck 15 years later. I stalled it once and then I drove it away.

I cannot drive a stick, and it is crap. I tried to learn a long time ago on a truck my family had, but the clutch was ridiculously tight (I had this verified independently by other people who were used to driving sticks when they would drive it, too), so I didn't get around to it. I'd love to learn it now, but I need the time and means.

I was taught by my girlfriend in high school. I think I now prefer stick to an automatic. When I was looking for Jeep, I found one but it turned out it was automatic. I didn't know Jeep made automatics.

It is pretty tiresome when you're trying to organize something and someone throws the "I can't drive stick" wrench into the works.
