a beautiful experience you've had recently.
It doesn't have to be some sappy story or anything. Just tell about a time you've had when you felt happy to be alive. Everything came together and clicked.
I really like those threads like "Tell About a Time You Dropped the Ball" or "Mind. Changed."
Shoot.

4This has happened several times recently. My wife and/or I often take our 19-month-old son Oliver to a small, secluded park on 18th and Prairie in the evenings, when there are several rabbits running around the bushes and across the fields. Oliver will follow/chase the rabbits for the entire time, pointing and shouting "bunny" whenever he sees one. I guess this is kind of sappy, but it still makes me feel amazing.
Summers in Chicago always make me feel glad to be alive. Once the weather gets hot, all of the trees turn green, people start crowding the lakefront paths and parks, the days get longer, flowers downtown and on Lake Shore Drive being to bloom, etc. When summer gets going here, you feel as if you're living in the most awesome city on the planet.

5Fuck that's hard. Almost everyday I have a moment where I laugh really hard or smile or just feel good and semi-lucidly think/feel how lucky I am. I could think of specific things but they all sound too trite and bland and predictable.
I guess the most recent example was a walk through the Cascades which is this really beautiful little trail system within the city. It has a variety of paths that lead to a river cascading heavily over some of the oldest rocks in North America. I go there a lot and every time I do, I am bombarded by feelings of how beautiful existence can be and how fortunate I am to live where I do. It makes a person humble and thankful, at least for a while.
Then I go home and my new neighbours across the street are yelling at each other in the middle of the street about how much they fucking hate each other and "where's the fucking valium?" and I want to smash their faces in with a meat tenderiser over and over again until they look like bloody regurgitated Jello.
Then, I collect myself and go downstairs to make some music for a while and forget about the scum across the street. I make noise and have a few moments where I feel really good. Life is confusing.

6Ate mushrooms with a dear old friend who I never see a few weeks back. We sat in my living room listening to music for an hour or so until I started to get antsy. I convinced him to go on a walk. We walked over to the horse park around the corner form my house and jumped the gate with a small cooler of beer. After a couple of hours, a massive thunderstorm (that we later learned brought some tornadoes with it) rolled through. The lightning and strong wind was indescribably beautiful, and lasted for about an hour. Then it broke open and poured on us. We didn't move, and just sat in the rain, watching the lightning and wind churn the trees. This was the best time I have had in months.

bigc, that's fantastic. Shrooms can make being out in a summer storm an utterly transcendent experience.

8I explained convolution reverb to someone and I think I did a good job because we both got really excited about it. It was like mental explosions! I love convolution!
