tips for being a kinder person

Sometimes when I get really involved in projects with which I am actualizing myself, or under alot of stress, or a multitide of other reasons, I feel that I begin to loose my psychic connection with the rest of humanity. I can be reserved as it is, and I'm feeling the need to keep this in check.

Who's got some tips for things that can draw you out of yourself and establish genuine interest in and stronger bonds with the rest of the humans?

Perhaps volunteering time to others? Less drink and drugs? Maybe even carefully planned time for oneself? Transcendental meditation? I'm open here people and I'd love to hear some ideas.

You have some good ideas in your post. Bonding activities with your fellow workers are usually beneficial and can often give you a fresh perspective when you return to work.

A major component of a successful life is being able to adapt as you go, while turning adversity into benefit. Regardless of circumstance, you can always optimize any experience by remaining mentally fluid allowing the appropriate actions to interface with the given conditions.

Never dilute your time and energy by trying to be perfect at something you have no aptitude for. Base your life on those talents and aspirations that you're passionate about. That's what all great performers do.

anyone have any tips for dealing with a dumbass you have to work with? she literally retains nothing. i have to tell her time and time again the same things. she's just very single minded, but i don't think it's a mental/phychosis problem b/c she's got with where-with-all (sp?) to make up lies to cover her tracks.

for example, we're in a lab environment. even at almost 6 months of employment, she has to be reminded to wear a lab coat. i mean, seriously...

i just can't find it in me to be nice to her...

Cross your fingers and pray every morning that she will get pregnant and quit. After four years, this just worked for me. People like that will never learn and you kind of have to just laugh it off and say to yourself 'oh yeah, she's a total fucking moron' and help them through their day. While you do this, you hope they do something stupid enough to get fired.

You lost me at "actualizing myself". Last time I did that in puplic, I got arrested. BADOOM PSHHH!!

Actually, I honestly believe that if a person can't figure out on their own how to be kind, then fuck that person.

How 'bout this: When interacting with the rest of the people, consider how what you say and do affects them, not just you. In other words, be thoughtful and considerate. And practice it a lot.

Oops, sorry: "ALOT".

ben, in the 'Masturbating At Work' thread wrote:i'd just like to point out that i've checked over all of the policies and regulations of the company I work for and could find nothing that prohibits masturbating at work. i suppose if someone else heard or something it could be construed as sexual harassment, but there is nothing that prohibits it explicitly.

I think you know where I'm going with this.
