I m sick - Recommend food

I've been sick for about a week.
Nothing too horrible.
Mainly congestion in my nose and chest
I just can't seem to shake it
plus I'm in the midst of quitting smoking cigs
and that tends to do something weird with your lungs at first.

Any recommendations on simple food or drink to make me feel better?
I say simple because I'm also in the process
of moving out of my apartment
so some of my kitchen stuff
is already packed.

chili stuff to unblock your sinus

if you have a teapot, lots of ginger root, lemons, all chopped up, to make a tea.

i say this with complete seriousness as it's seriously done wonders for me...

taco bell.

i mean it.
i think my body has gone beyond accepting it as a form of curing hangovers to curing small illnesses.

chicken ginger lemon chili soup.
with honey if you get a sore throat..

you'll be sweating like a pig, but you'll be able to breathe.

the only kitchen items you'll need will be a pot a knife a bowl and a spoon.

and drink lots of 7up and water.
iced peppermint tea is nice as well..

good luck

Good advice so far. I usually cut dairy as well. Turmeric as well as ginger have good anti-inflammatory effects.

This neti pot analogue may help the nasal congestion http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Xod51qVl8hw
I wonder if the soothing shakuhachi flute music is included on a cd.

Sure. Near a Vietnamese restaurant? Big steaming bowl of pho w/ tripe and tendon, plus lots of chili sauce and basil will clear you right up and make you feel like a million bucks.

There's also a tea blend you can get at an Indian grocery that's great for cold symptoms. Sorry I can't remember the name but I buy it in a little white plastic envelope. I realize this is probably not so helpful.

Boiling water in a mug with the juice of half a lemon, a teaspoon of honey and half a thumb-sized piece of ginger sliced into 2mm slices (ish).

Leave for 5 minutes, remove ginger (or not).

Drink.
