The AL-III for my JH-110c 8 Track machine is kind of busted.
The counter functions haven't worked for a while due to a sync cable mishap. Now, I can't arm tracks or use varispeed. It's pretty much a FF, RW, Play Stop and Record remote at this point.
I've googled a bit and have also looked on e-bay for a month or so. No Luck.
I've thought about taking it in to be fixed, but the local tech that I trust is expensive (My budget is $300 or so.). So, now I am wondering if it might be reasonable to just buy a used Auto Locator.
I would appreciate any thoughts you guys have on the matter.
Broken Auto Locator for a JH 110-c 8 Track
2You're not likely to find a used Autolocator for that cheap. If someone's parting it out, they'll likely be charging higher.
Consider doing a repair subscription service with Steve at Blevins Audio. He'll probably be able to take you through whatever's wrong over the phone. Also, you could sign up for the Yahoogroups Sony/MCI list. I've gotten good advice for free there.
Good luck.
