Thunderdome: Rapeman vs Scratch Acid
2I've been getting high recently (which I rarely do anymore) and listening to both bands frequently (as well as Tool's Lateralus) and If I had to choose one over the other....I'd pick Rapeman.
Even as a Vegan, I find myself loving "Steak & Black Onions" everytime I listen to it, Including the lyrics. Especially when I used to work at WholeFoods, "Steak & Black Onions" ran through my head all day when I glanced at the sparkling italian water isle.
I mainly choose Rapeman over Scratch Acid for "Trouser Minnow" alone. Great song.

3I really like Rapeman, absolutely love that record.
Scratch Acid I never listen to. I like them and like the records but I never put them in and just jam out. Rapeman I do all the time.

4I dunno...Rapeman are just a little more one note than Scratch Acid.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good note, But Scratch Acid stretched things out a bit more.

You call me a hater like that's a bad thing

5Scratch Acid.
Rapeman was a great band, but Two Nuns and a Pack Mule isn't as good as the first Scratch Acid EP and Berzerker. This wasn't really Rapeman's fault, but it's true. Some of those Rapeman songs, like "Up Beat," worked better live.
Mostly this is a question of Yow/Bradford vs. Albini. It's hard to pick because they're both awesome.
On another note, Rey Washam's drumming always kicks my ass into the neighboring township.

Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

Those records make my ear triggers tingle.
Scratch Acid was awesome, yes, I love those albums, yes, but Rapeman.
"Monobrow" forces me to hit shit.
