Does anyone know either any good hostels in either of these cities, or good areas to choose one in?

I'll be over with a few friends in a month and we'll be travelling from Chicago to New York over a week in a motorhome, but prior to and after this, we'll be in hostels for a couple of nights.

Also, if anyone knows of any good gigs on in Chicago from the 10th to the 13th of September, or in New York on the 22nd or 23rd then I'd be glad to hear.

This one is a good one to look into for Chicago.

Close to the El (train), busses, the lake and downtown.
Safe neighborhood too.

This one is centrally located downtown by lots of public transit

Well, I'll head into town after ATP on the Monday morning (22nd) and then need to head off by Wednesday evening. My loser friends need to get back to work apparently.

I'm tending to stick with balls these days. I had a feeling bollocks was a bit passe'.
