Good evening EA Forum.
I play bass (sometimes guitar) in a band.
Our drummer sucks and we are probably going
to kick her out of the band.
Anyway
When she is not at practice, I wind up going behind the drums
and messing around. And I cannot get enough of it.
I can keep a beat, and really want to get better
I think where I may run into my first bit of trouble is the whole
playing hi-hat, snare, and bass drum
the sort of chewing gum and rubbing your belly at the same time
I can keep a beat doing 2 of the 3 but not all three yet.
I'm sure it takes practice
and now that I have regular access to a drum set which
I've never had before, I will practice a lot
because drums are probably one of my favorite things
to listen to when listening to a record.
So. Any suggestions aside from practice practice practice?
Any suggestions at all would be welcome,
and especially suggestions on going from 2 out of 3
to 3 out of 3
Thank you
Christian
EDIT: another thought. The drums are at not at my house.
Is there any merit to buying one of those awfully cheap drum sets just to practice on? like a 100 to 200 hundred dollar one?
