Anyone play one of these yet? The scale is something like 30.5", which is kind of a concern to me, but I think that is could sound really cool through the Traynor/Marshall rig I've got right now.

How many 8 strings models did they make?

I'm only familiar with this one. The one you linked has a different body shape.

Two. The older 8 string model you linked to and the newer one I linked to---maybe its not exactly a reissue.

Anyways, what do you guys think? I've played one of the 'new' Hagstroms, and it felt like a solid guitar. Granted, it seems like there are a lot of things you could screw up when making a lower mid-priced 8 string.

This site backs me up. It actually shows we're both right. A Hagstrom 8-string was used for the studio recording of "Achilles Last Stand," but an Alembic 8-string was used live.
