Got a newer/bigger/better one so I don't need it. It's a Haier window unit. Not the greatest, but it'll keep you from burning up.
Park Slope/Windsor Terrace area. PM me if you want to pick it up.

I sent an email to my friend Emily, who just moved to New York two weeks ago. I'll see if they could use one for their new apartment and PM you if they are interested.

connor, for fuck's sake, how can you live in Park Slope and we haven't met yet? I mean, besides the fact that I never leave the house?

Me and my girlfriend
just moved in. Do you Brooklyn PRFers all have a secret club or something? We're at 16th St. and PPSW. I fucking love this neighborhood (despite the fact that I can't find any cheap, awesome Indian take-out around here). Fuck Westchester.
You're close by?

We're in Fort Green, not far at all. One of my golf buddies lives very near you at 6th Ave and 3rd. We should definitely get together for a meal one of these days. Have you eaten at Coco Roco yet? Delicious, low-temperature Peruvian joint, on 5th Ave I think. Fantastic, dangerously good pisco sours.
ERawk, what do you know about Eastchester and points around there (Mount Vernon, Yonkers, etc)? The lady and I just started checking out house listings there. We won't be ready to buy for quite a while, but that area has piqued our interest since we want a detached house with a yard, not a coop or condo.

Queens needs a PR guy.

You know, for no reason I know, we had not even looked at Queens yet. I guess we just assumed it was too "urban" to have the sort of place we're looking for and still be convenient to a train that'll get us to Midtown in less than an hour.

About 75% of the borough is like what you are looking for, and there are a few places that could have you to midtown in less time than it takes from Fort Greene.
And the food is better. Don't let anyone from Brooklyn fool you on that one.
I'll probably be moving back to Queens within a year. Maybe I'd come down once a month for the sopresetta. Brownstones are pretty, but not pretty enough that I'm going to sacrifice having a garage, a basement to play as loud as I want, and a school where my kid might learn how to read before she's 12.
There are no Latin American metal venues in Brooklyn, either.

Thanks, E! All good info.
No kids for us and I don't think we're looking any farther north than Yonkers.
