I was never much of a fan, myself. But in retrospect I can't help but admire the cohesiveness of everything, and there's no denying they managed to make an impact in a way that, say, SST was never able. Was this simply a matter of timing, or was it effective marketing? Maybe I'm biased when saying that I don't think it was so much the music.
