I saw them at the Sundowner in Appleton Wi, they were great!

Not crap although I must admit their early recordings aren't all that. They had that shit down though by the time they recorded Hate with Tim Mac. (Rog's link at the top of this thread has a video from off that album). Also they were a fucking powerhouse live and I would drive a couple hundred miles for a reunion show.

The early to mid 90's Eau Claire rock scene as a whole really had its merits and Venison seemed to be the anchor of said scene. It was sorta of little Am Rep east except for 3 Liter Hit who stood out as some sort of joyous, confrontational carnival from Mars for all intents and purposes.

Venison sort of live on with 3/5 of the band forming the instrumental core of my all-time favorite band from Wisconsin, Drunk Drivers
