What's funny is that by the time I voted CRAP, someone had already voted NOT CRAP. I think their PR guy is on here looking for new ideas for the band and he quickly voted and then left.

I saw them at the Taste of Lombard last summer. I forgot how many songs were on the radio they played like 8 songs that I knew from my teen years. They were pretty tight and sounded good, but yea they are a little washed up.

the band, obviously, is crap ... but their original songwriter (the guy who wrote "Hey Jealousy" and "Found Out About You" ... in other words, their only hits), Doug Hopkins, was really a terrific songwriter in the Westerberg/Alex Chilton vein, if a little more 90's-pop-oriented. He was kicked out of the band for his drinking, and killed himself right after they started gaining popularity ... with his songs. It's a goddamn tragedy.

If you listen to ONLY the songs he wrote off their first album, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'd probably put them in with other alterna-pap like Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Verve Pipe, Collective Soul, Counting Crows.

They were a cut above the other bands like them, which is a bit like saying they were the least rotten piece of meat in a butcher shop.

I find both of these bands infinitely more entertaining when written
by Miss Kenoki.

Listening to these bands makes me want to punch old people.
When i say old what i mean is people my age that bought and still listen to this shit.
