I just got 'You Can't Hide Your Love Forever' and it's very NOT CRAP

The four singles they did on Postcard are some of my favourite ever records. Absolutely not crap. But why is all their Postcard stuff out of print??

Not crap at all. I love this band, and wish their albums would go back in print.

i have "you can't hide your love forever" and gave it about a half a listne before realized that it was a total snoozefest, i would be lying if i said otherwise. completely forgettable.

Bump from having read the comments on General Discussion. I've only knowingly heard two Orange Juice songs, both of which I like a lot. Which records would those who love them recommend, please?

love it. it's one of those "hey this stuff is good" albums that you then notice you're hearing it consistently for years and years.

Edwyn Collins' solo records are pretty great too. Look out for a song called Campaign for real rock. It's a fucking gem.

Robin Guthrie produced Edwyn Collins'' first solo works, including the first single, "Don't Shilly Shally" (1988) and the song "My Beloved Girl", on Collins''1989 album debut, Hope And Despair.
I think it helped Collins clarify his musical direction.

I'm impressed by his voice - it is of a type that I'd usually find affected, but he sounds utterly heartfelt to me. I'm looking forward to hearing these suggestions and reporting back.
