NOT CRAP.

I'm sure I'll be in the minority on this one, but I still love his records (though not as much as I did, say, 10 or 12 years ago). His new album is very, very good, and I am excited because I am seeing him in concert tonight in Nashville. I am not excited about the crowd at this show, which is sure to be one of the most irritating I've ever encountered, but no matter.

Vauxhall and I, Viva Hate (with great guitar playin' by Vini Reilly), and Your Arsenal in particular are fine albums, though he hasn't recorded one that I don't like. I genuinely think he's a great lyricist. Please do not laugh me off this board.

I know there was a poll about The Smiths, whose records I still (perhaps sadly) still listen to pretty regularly, but Morrissey solo is an entirely different animal, as I'm sure everyone knows.

Anyhow, I don't understand why so many people seem to have an irrationally intense hatred of Morrissey.

I have been in smiths denial since day one, but always secretly enjoyed them...and the morissey is an often catchy, creative, intelligent songwriter that deserves more attention than he receives...nota crapa...Not many artists have held a career outside the 'mainstream' as long as morissey has, and continue to be interesting...i know, tear me a new one for admitting my obvious gheyness now.

Weeeell, I just went to see Morrissey tonight at the Palladium. And it was narcissitically, camply, homoerotically good; and the rabid audience I went with improved it no end. He even did mostly stuff I knew, considering I own none of his records. It was a highly enjoyable and entertaining show from start to finish.

So I'm giving him a NOT CRAP.
