anyone heard Dianogah? I think the drum sound in Battle Champions is definetly the best recorded Albini drum sound, may also be due to the drummer being fucking awesome but anyway, just a little stoned rant for you all.

I love Dianogah, I have all of their cds. I also had them on my radio show two years ago. One time I posed as Jay Ryan's nephew so I could get into a show they played at the Hideout. Dianogah is awesome.

Dianogah definitely not crap.

And while we're somewhere close to the subject, did Thax ever do that all-bass show? Has there been more? I thought that was a great concept.

I agree. The vocals they are not good. Bass playing and drumming very good. Vocals, they are a bad idea for these fellows.

i saw them in new orleans several years ago.
they opened up for june of 44.
i thought they were the greatest.
they always seem to play over in europe.
never in the southeast U.S.A.
this makes me sad.

Dianogah is SO FUN to listen to. I have to say that they are one of my 'all time' favorite bands.

THE VOCALS ARE AWESOME> you’re nuts. Is it just cause it’s NOT generic and what your used to hearing? Its done correctly, smart and just the right amount for the trio. Works great and sounds good.

Live - they are full of energy and play honestly. Great Great Great music those Dianogah fellas are makin.

For me, Dianogah's first full length "As Seen from Above" had the classic Albini drum sound at it's finest. I believe that record was one of the last recorded in Steve's basement. Some of what I've heard out of Studio A is similar, but doesn't quite have that distinctive slapback as the basement drum room did.
