I don't have a TV. I live in Asia. I don't know what CNN is doing re: Falluja, but The Guardian has some pics of the 'militants.'
I am sad. But I know that dying for one's beliefs - misguided or not - is probably a better end than many of us will meet.
War pigs.

And lest we forget:
Welcome, Kamil, I’m an American girl, nineteen, pregnant, my Dad is an alcoholic, but my Mother is in recovery, with her own Daycare, and I’ll be taking it over after the Army, I’ve always wanted to have my own business, and I’m going to expand beyond just one location, I’m not thinking small. And since I believe it is always important to say what one means and not beat around the bush, I want you to know something: I’m going to hold a pistol to your head and tell you to jack-off, while you recite the Koran as fast as you can, you heathen, Hell-bound fuck, and then I’m going to look at the camera with a cigarette dangling from my sultry, teenage lips, giving the thumbs up. By the time you get to MI, you’ll be softened up, and you’ll tell us where the missing evil Baathists are.

When I look at pictures of dead "insurgents", i always end up wondering what those people were thinking just before they died. I imagine we are supposed to imagine that they were thinking something along the lines of, "I want to kill Americans." I can't help but imagine that they were actually thinking, "I just wish these Americans would leave me alone." Right before they thought, "Fuck I'm scared."
And then I think about all of the American soldiers who are gonna come home psychologically fucked up, in one way or another, from having killed people. Another generation's worth of nightmares. This sucks. And its clearly so successful that none of the top defense and intelligence leaders in Washington have resigned/"retired"/been fired in the last four days...

US investigates killing of wounded insurgent
I saw the actual 'dispatching' on the news last night.
Nice.

I was watching a "Hell in the Pacific", a documentary about the brutal war against japanese in the Pacific theatre, and one of the US marines interviewed said that they soon discovered the japanese word for mother (mama). This was invariably what soldiers on both sides called out as they lay dying.

i think with the iraqis leading a guerilla war it will be hard for americans... remember vietnam... and iraq will not be different... USA can rule this country for decades as England forced their government upon north ireland... so what you get is years of terrorist attacks, guerilla war... as sure as hell that the iraqian people would not support USA after everything they`ve done... nobody likes invaders even if they`re "freeing innocent people from saddams regime"... crap... it`s all about global politics made by few oil corrporate giants... and poor people are getting killed...

My brother in law is there in fallujah. I don't know him real well but I hope he comes home with his body AND his mind intact. He was all gung-ho about "seeing some action" before he shipped off. Now my wife hears he has ideas about living on a commune in Colorado with friends of his when (if ?) he gets back. Sounds a lot like Vietnam to me.
