What do these work well for? There is one here in a shop that says m500n, is that the same thing?
thanks.
beyer 500?
2they're great on guitar cabinets close miced - i dunno about the n part - i assume it's the same thing. beyers seem to have a lot of funny small differences in naming that don't seem to affect the overall quality of mic (i.e. 201tg, 201, revox version) if it's in your budget - i'd definitely check it out.[/code]

3They are also great as a pair as stereo overheads for drums. Just remember it is a ribbon mic so no phantom power please. I learned the hard way once. doh.

4I've had good results using the M500 on guitar cabinets, french horn and even some vocalists.
