Hey, my first post here.
Looking for advice on drum sounds you guys get (like the Neurosis drum sound).
Got any pics of that setup for tracking and/or mixing?
(Anyone remember?)
Hell, I'll even take you guys out for lunch one day if you wanna talk about it! (I'm in the west burbs)

Check out the "Neurosis of a Kentucky Love Triangle" post in the "Intern's Corner" forum of this Message Board. My comrade Notaro posted some pics of the most recent Neurosis drum setup. Unfortunately he tried to be a little too witty with the title and I don't think anyone really picked up on what it was supposed to be... but that's what it is.
Hope that helps mr.

For which album do you speak? A lot of that sound has to do with the rooms they were recorded in. Personally, the Times of Grace album is my favorite sounding studio B record.

yes. as a PSA for electrical - save your money and record there. i've been able to play drums both in studio A and B - both rooms sound totally awesome (but different.) i also recorded in another studio a week earlier with the exact same kit and me playing, and a great mic to preamp signal chain - that sounds 100% opposite spectrum different. EA is fantastic space - it just sounds great in those rooms. drums, guitar, bass, piano - whatever. i'd even bet that hitting cardboard taped to a crappy drumset would even sound good there. if they can make a monkey like myself sound good - there's nothing those boys can't do.

I have so many pittures. I have had so little time. Patience will grant eye candy.
The drum sound became so hot at the Neurosis session, the place started smoking.
En mi opinion, I think the drum sound truly came down to the spoke bell, left of the high hat.
