You know how if anyone on that show ever tried to restore or repair their antique, it would make it totally worthless? Or how sometimes someone would bring in an "antique" that ended up being from 1973? My old housemate and I would always fantasize that when one of those things happened, and an item was worthless, they would bring in a giant hammer and smash it right in front of the horrified owner.

"This would normally be worth about ten thousand dollars, but since you touched up the paint on the back here, it's worth nothing. Get The Hammer!"

"Oh god, no!"

Not crap.

This is a neat show. I like the way the experts know all these minute details about the items and their histories and it's cool when they seem to get excited about the antiques. Sometimes they seem to be on the verge of tears.

The only crappy thing about this show (and ebay) is that now when you go to a junk store or a thrift store, some proprietors assume that everything old is really valuable so things are overpriced. This is like when "used" guitars started to become "vintage" guitars, and it sucks.

NOT CRAP. These show, she is so much the funny thing for the people are to getting the excited for antique. Also, for to bringing thing into Roadshow that is no so much the antique, but these guy, he is not to know it! So funny to me! I am to discuss with the beautiful friend, how are we to bring garbage to Antiques Roadshow and say, "Hey, you guy! These thing is the beautiful antiques!". We are to take the glass Coke bottle and saying: "These bottle, one time, was inside Jackie O. For certain is the antique!". But these Roadshow, she makes trip to Memphis, Italia, and we do not do these thing. So lazy! But I am to liking these show.

I love this show when the antique collectors (the same ones who routinely rip people off at garage sales/estate sales/etc.) show up with their biggest, oldest, most bad-assed antique only to have the expert tell them that it's only worth a small fraction of what they paid.

Cracks me up every - single - time.

I always hope the appraiser is going to rub a little smudge of dirt off some artifact to reveal the "Made in Taiwan" mark.
